The Isle of Cats:
This board game (which Maia and I like to mispronounce as "I Love Cats") ships with an overwhelming number of cards, trinkets, and rules that are only necessary for the advanced rules. (It also arrived sounding like it was full of sand, but that turned out to be a ripped silica gel packet). We've ignored the advanced rules and just played the basic game several times now -- much less setup, easy to pick up, and moves fast. Players take turns selecting cats in Tetris shapes and trying to fit them on their boats a la Patchwork. The kids also play their own "basic-er" version where they just take turns drawing cats out of the bag and filling their boats any way they can.

Final Grade: B+

The Night Before (R):
A Christmas movie that's a bromance instead of a rom-com, this movie manages to hit all the obligatory tropes while still being funny (in a Seth Rogen humor kind of way).

Final Grade: B-

Cunk on Life:
This special is the follow-on to the excellent mockumentary series, Cunk on Earth. It's a little too long and drags in places, but it's also nice to have more Cunk.

Final Grade: B

Arcane Season 2 Original Soundtrack:
The soundtrack for the first season was full of evocative songs that introduced me to several new musicians. This second album is fine, but has much less variety. Most of it is hard rock or noisy metal that's not worth a second or third listen.

Final Grade: C
