Taco vs Burrito:
One of the advertising gimmicks of this card game is that it was invented by a 7-year-old and it shows. It's good for a novelty round where everyone can admire the gross-out ingredient cards to play into your burrito, but the lack of depth and seams start showing immediately. The official rules don't cover many common occurrences so you'll be making up house rules quite often. There are also cards that shift the momentum so abruptly that it's usually better to just wait for the last few rounds and "decide to win" instead of playing tactically for the whole game.

Final Grade: D+

English Teacher, Season One:
Another entry in the "modern comedy with fast-paced dialogue about recent pop culture" genre, this show about a gay high school teacher in Texas is a pleasant watch. On Hulu.

Final Grade: B

Arcane, Season Two:
The final season of this show is a miss -- the character/political conflicts that made Season One so compelling are swept under the rug in favor of nonsensical metaphysical plots and endless, meaningless, comic-book fight scenes. Many scenes involve characters in disjointed, solo storylines looking confused in unfamiliar surroundings. I love this show's style but miss its substance. On Netflix.

Final Grade: C

Last Christmas (PG-13):
Rebecca likes to end the year with Christmas rom-coms. As Christmas rom-coms go, this one starring Emilia Clarke and a mysterious man who might be imaginary is fun, watchable, and not to saccharine.
